We hope you will use it regularly to keep up to date with what your Councillors are doing, what’s going on, local news and useful material for all the people of Cookham Parish.

The Parish Council is a tax-funded local government body with responsibility for a number of open spaces including allotments and the Alfred Major Recreation Ground. We also manage the Cemetery in Long Lane.

We are a consultee for local planning issues and represent our residents, through democratic processes, with higher authorities.

A vacancy has arisen for a councillor to serve on Cookham Parish Council.
Candidates must be 18 or over and live or work within three miles of the Parish. As no election has been requested by the residents, the vacancy will be filled by co-option.

Cookham Parish in Berkshire covers 3 democratic wards:
Cookham Village, Cookham Dean and Cookham Rise.

It is bordered in the north and east by the River Thames with a band of Green Belt separating it from the town of Maidenhead approx two miles to the south.

The population is around 5,500, the majority of which reside in the more built up environs of Cookham Rise.

The Parish Council is a public democratic body and members of the public are encouraged to attend the Council’s meetings.

Information regarding meetings is available on this website and can also be seen on the Parish Council’s noticeboards, the main one is located outside the Parish Office in High Road. 

The others are outside Pinder Hall in Lower Road, on the Causeway near to the War Memorial and at the junction of Bigfrith Lane with Church Road in Cookham Dean.

The Clerk to the Council and Assistant Clerk have an office at the Library in High Road, Cookham Rise SL6 9JF – next to Cookham Rise Primary School.

The office is open weekdays 8.30 am – 12.30 pm, so that residents can view planning applications, enquire about burial sites, pay allotment rents and deal with any general enquiries.
